Carl Jung proposed that some dreams also reveal sacred archetypes, profound mythic symbols that are central to religious and mystical experience. According to Jung, these archetypes are symbols not from one's personal unconscious, but from the collective unconscious. A dream that includes visionary archetypes and symbolic revelation of this type is sometimes known as a high dream.
