Two memory card readers are
built-in for easy viewing and sharing of photos stored in memory cards. One
memory card slot accepts Compact Flash I (CF) cards while the second
accommodates Memory Stick (MS), SD Card and Multi-Media Cards (MMC). Flexible display modes give
you the freedom to display your photos one image at one time, in thumbnail
mode for quick, easy searches, or to create a slideshow of your most
treasured photos.
The very best high density
screen in the industry displays 88 percent more pixels per square inch than
even a high end 17-inch LCD monitor -- showing off your treasured photos
with the same 'real life' rich detail and vibrant colours as high quality
prints. Prestigious international
organisations select outstanding products for design awards; Philips display
devices regularly win such awards including the iF, Good Design Award and
Reddot Design Award.
A built-in clock turns your
Photo Frame on or off at times you select. AC or on-board battery power
gives you the choice of operating your Photo Frame on standard AC power or
cordlessly with the on-board rechargeable battery. A slideshow is a collection
of images arranged in sequence for presenting to an audience. Pressing the
button and selecting the slideshow function automatically displays all
photos stored on your Photo Frame, page-by-page. A USB connector is built into
the device for easy and quick downloading photos from a PC. Full colour display brings
out the best in your photos with vibrant, real life colours by displaying
the same full range of colours found in professionally printed photos.

Very Pleased
I purchased the digital
photo frame frame 6 months ago after trying the ATMT product which
I found unacceptable. Expensive at first sight but does everything I
want - switches on an off at preset times, different speeds and
features on the slide show, very easy to load from my PC, looks great
and seems to be very smart about resizing images to fit without any
fiddling around on my part.
Colours are good, daylight viewing is good,
passing around on battery power is nice (but screen res does tend to
show up a little when you study close up). You can even have different
slide shows stored and with a few clicks on the menu change the mood of
the photos on show.
Despite the price tag in comparison with the ATMT product I have no
issues recommending it (though it looks like some people have had
reliability issues).
I just love the fact I have dozens of pics on a 128Mb simm and pic
changes at random every 30 mins so I never quite know which of my
memories I'll be looking at next.
Only down side is that the digital photo frame won't take a memory stick but in practise I
have not found that a weakness as loading from the PC is so easy.
I plan to get another unit and run one in portrait and one in
landscape.
Great frame, good pictures but.....
I like the digital photo
frame - look great. I found the software for PC interface easy, and after a few minutes,
found manipulating the software on the frame easy.
I agree with the cropping discussion, but I can live with it, as we all
find it addictive looking at the 75 pictures rotating trough their
cycle...though why they cannot say how many pictures it displays leaves
me a little confused.
My big gripe and why not 5 star, is it was gift for my father in law.
He does not have a PC, and I would like for my wife to go along with a
USB key fob of images to change them over - the frame cannot has one of
those small ports that allow it to talk to a PC, but not accept a key
fob - Phillips - Please fix this to make this a great frame!
Otherwise, ok - just a bit inconvenient.
SUPERB Picture Quality (...mostly!)
We're on our SECOND
digital photo frame now - the first was fine but then just
wouldn't get out of bed one morning (6 months after purchase). We
turned it on & it just froze. Anyway this one seems ok so far. Got it
landscape at the mo although you can also stand it upright for portrait pics.
One problem is the icons on reverse of screen - incomprehensible! and
it takes a while to get to know the onscreen icons - you have to 'feel'
your way across the buttons on the back whilst looking at the front,
and guessing what each one does.
Otherwise, fantastic quality & reproduction of picture, cannot fault
that. Superbly and consistently backlit: no patches, gaps or
pixilation. Even works with photos that I have edited in MGI. And not
just photos - any JPEG that's on the card.
I also have scanned images
of my son's artwork that display beautifully. (Although cropping pics
can cause a green mesh where the frame can't seem to cope with an
unusual pic size - no fix, we had to remove them.)
True, it does NOT have the whistles and bells: no clock, music, movies
or video. But do we need another clock, another iPod, another PSP,
another portable DVD? I think not - and if adding those things would
mean screen deterioration then no thanks! So it's a black screen on the
mantelpiece when it's switched off.
An advantage I like is that the frame takes the pics OFF the card and
stores them so that you can continue to use the memory card & don't
have to leave it in the unit. This also means that you can add to those
already there very easily & conveniently by slapping the card in the
back and the frame will just add the new ones.
