Jamie Sams, in my opinion, is a very sound and clear teacher. Her Medicine Cards are rightly a best seller. These are the generally less well known Sacred Path Cards, but are no less important. The images of each card are drawn from Native American tradition, and although the pictures are compelling, again it is the wisdom in the book that really sets them alight. Each of the forty-four cards has four or so pages about the history and meanings of the subject, for example, what the Heyoka or the or the Rite of Passage is about in the Native American tradition. She often uses personal stories to illustrate a point, which brings life and humour, and there is a paragraph at the end of each description called The Application which suggests how the card may be applied to your life. Having been a fan, and user, of the Medicine Cards for many years, I think that after reviewing these Sacred Path cards, that I may need to make another purchase! If you are into Native American culture and belief then you will love them, but they are relevant to anyone following their own Sacred Path.
